This paper proposes an image based modelling pipeline for use over peer-to-peer networks in cultural heritage, and other applications. There has been a considerable interest in the development of architectures and platforms for a decentralized form of networking enabling cross-device communication and data exchange. The use of regular under-utilised computers instead of specialised servers offers a more effective approach to distributed computing by shifting 3D graphical content where it is more needed thereby providing better load balancing. However, peer-to-peer networks are classified as unreliable, and the constants peer connection/disconnection are serious factors to evaluate during the architectural design. This paper illustrates some of the problems, and provides a first step towards their solutions.
