Carlo Ferrari's Biography Page
Carlo Ferrari was born in Genova on March, 7th 1960. He received his ``Laurea'' degree from the School of Engineering of the University of Genua on 1985 and his Ph.D. from the University of Padua in 1992. In 1986 he held a fellowship at the Department of Communication, Computer and System Sciences (DIST) of the University of Genoa. Then  he worked within the AI research group of ELSAG-Elettronica S.Giorgio , in Genoa until 1988. In 1990 and 1991 he was visiting the Electrical Engineering and Computer Department of the University of California at Berkeley. Since 1992 he has been at the Department of Electronics and Informatics (DEI) of the University of Padua, where he is currently associate professor in Computer Science. He was the main investigator in the Italy-USA CNR joint project ``Non-monotone assembly planning within a RISC robotics system'' and in the CNR national project ``Real Time computing in the Real world''. Beside being involved in various national events, he also was the Scientific Secretary of the ``IAS-6 the 6th International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems'', held in Venice in july 2000.
He served as referee for the IEEE Trans. on Robotics and Automation and for the main conferences on Robotics and Intelligent Systems. He is author and co-author of more than 50 papers on national and international journals and conferences.
