Alberto Pettarin

I'm a Research Collaborator at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova, Padova, Italy.

I currently work in the Advanced Computing Group on a Data Mining Research Project, funded by a Leading Company in the Test and Measurement field, under the scientific supervision of Prof. Andrea Pietracaprina and Prof. Geppino Pucci.

I'm interested in the following research areas:

  • Algorithmic Issues of Communication in Dynamic Distributed Systems
  • Randomized Algorithms and Graphs
  • Probabilistic Analysis of Algorithms
  • Data Mining Algorithms
  • Electronic Publishing

From January 2010 to June 2011 I visited the Department of Computer Science of Brown University, Providence, RI, working with Prof. Eli Upfal.

I successfully defended my PhD thesis Graph Models of Information Spreading in Wireless Networks on Fri 13 Apr 2012. My thesis committee included Prof. Raffaele Giancarlo, Prof. Alessandro Panconesi, and Prof. Davide Rocchesso.
