Maria Pia Saccomani

Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering

Mariapia Saccomani

Maria Pia Saccomani received the Doctoral degree (Laurea) in Mathematics in 1985 from the University of Padova and the Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering in 1990 from the Polytechnic of Milan.

In 1991 she become Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Electronics and Informatics, University of Padova.

In 2006 she become Associate Professor in Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova.

Main Research

Her main research activity is in the field of mathematical modeling of biological and physiological systems and identification of dynamic systems. In particular, Dr. Saccomani has many years of experience in developing theory, algorithms and software for checking parameter identifiability of nonlinear dynamic systems. She is involved in the research area of differential algebra methods in control and nonlinear system identification. The applications fields regard mostly the HIV models and oncological models.
