FOR THE STIPULATION OF 1 TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS, FOR THE DURATION OF 4 MONTHS, FOR RESEARCH ASSISTANTS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE "MOSART" IMPROVING HUMAN POTENTIAL - RESEARCH TRAINING NETWORK - AT THE DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION ENGINEERING

Given the financial resources concerning the Mosart project

The University of Padua – Department of Electronics and Informatics intends to implement a selection by means of a comparative assessment procedure for the stipulation of 1 temporary employment agreements for a period of 4 months, for research assistant activities in the context of the "Mosart" Improving Human Potential - Research Training Network.

The compensation due to the employee shall amount to a total of 6728 Euro, less any taxes and deductions established by law, and shall be paid in 4 monthly installments.

Art. 1 - ELIGIBILITY

As at the date of the deadline for presenting applications for the selection procedure, candidates must meet the following requirements:

1.age: they must be aged 35 or less at the time of their appointment to the network (see also below);

2.qualifications: they must be holders of a doctoral degree or of a degree that would qualify them to embark on a doctoral degree;

3.nationality: they must be nationals of an EU Member State or Associated State or have resided in an EU Member State for at least five years immediately prior to their appointment in a network;

4.international mobility: they must not be a national of the state in which the appointing participant is located and must not have carried out their normal activities in that state for more than 12 of the 24 months prior to their appointment;

7.if the applicant is an Italian citizen: full political rights; or, if he/she is not an Italian citizen, the enjoyment of civil and political rights in the country to which they belong or from which they come;

8.physical conditions suited to the type of employment.

Art. 2 - CONTENT OF THE APPLICATION

In their application to take part in the selection procedure, on unstamped paper, candidates must declare under their own responsibility their surname and name; citizenship; date and place of birth; place of residence; any telephone and/or fax numbers, and/or e-mail address; any penal sentences or pending penal procedures; the enjoyment of full political rights; their situation concerning military service; a detailed declaration that they meet the requirements listed in art. 1 and the exact address where they can be contacted. Foreign candidates must also declare that they have an adequate knowledge of the Italian language and that they enjoy full civil and political rights in the country to which they belong or from which they come.

Art. 3 - ATTACHMENTS TO THE APPLICATION

The application must be complete with:

-any qualification and publication considered useful for the purposes of the comparative assessment, providing that it is pertinent to the scientific area mentioned above;

-the curriculum of the candidate’s scientific activities;

-a list of the qualifications and publications presented.

All the documentation must be presented on unstamped paper. The documents, qualifications and publications must be produced as originals or authenticated copies, or as normal copies accompanied by a declaration of conformity with the original signed by the candidates themselves (Attachment "A").

Citizens from outside the European Community may produce a declaration of conformity with the original providing this can be certified or witnessed by an Italian public or private person.

Italian and European Community citizens can make a declaration in lieu of providing certification of their educational or professional qualifications, the examinations they have taken, their specialist or professional qualifications, or training, updating and technical qualifications (Attachment "A")

Art. 4 - METHOD FOR PRESENTING THE APPLICATIONS

The application, complete with the attachments concerning qualifications and publications, must be delivered to the Department of Information Engineering, via Gradenigo 6/a, Padua, from Monday to Friday between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., or sent by registered letter with return receipt to the following address: Via Gradenigo, 6/a - 35131 Padova, or by fax to the number +39 049 8277699. Applications must be presented or sent to the aforesaid address no later than the final deadline on 10 December 2002.

The date of dispatch of the applications is demonstrated by the dated stamp of the recipient Post Office.

Art. 5 - EXAMINATIONS

Examinations: the selection shall be based on an assessment of the qualifications (possibly integrated by means of an interview and/or by a theoretical/practical test on the technical knowledge needed for the appointment considered in the present announcement).
