CAMEO aims at enhancing conversational agents through an innovative use of user contextual information.
In CAMEO, the user context becomes the internal knowledge of the system, including a representation of relevant information
collected during past interactions of the user with the system. Such contextual information, enriched with external knowledge
from the application domain considered, will be exploited to extract actionable insights enabling a rich and satisfying user
interaction through advanced dialogue management, query answering, personalized search and recommendation.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) are chronic diseases characterized by progressive or alternate
impairment of neurological functions (motor, sensory, visual, cognitive). Artificial Intelligence is the key to:
i) better describe disease mechanisms; ii) stratify patients according to their phenotype assessed all over the disease evolution;
iii) predict disease progression in a probabilistic, time dependent fashion; iv) investigate the role of the environment;
v) suggest interventions that can delay the progression of the disease.
BRAINTEASER will integrate large clinical datasets with novel personal and environmental data collected using low-cost sensors and apps.
Software and mobile apps will be designed embracing an agile and user-centred design approach, accounting for the technical, medical,
psychological and societal needs of the specific users.

We aim at improving Learning to Rank (LtR) algorithms by letting them to take into account user interaction to improve their overall effectiveness. In particular, we will develop a model of user behavior where the interaction between the user and the ranked result list is modeled via Markov chains. Then, we will integrate the proposed model into a LtR algorithm in order to take into account the user interactions when the algorithm learns the scoring function. Finally, we will evaluate the performances of the proposed algorithm with respect to state of the art machine learning algorithms.
