Cinzia Pizzi is associate professor at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padua. Her research spans string algorithms, data strucures, sequence analysis, mainly with application to genomics and metagenomics analysis.
She has published 60+ scientific papers in international journals and conferences.
She was the winner of the Award "Avere Trent'anni" for young researchers @UniPd, and nominated "Outstanding young researcher" of the Dept of Information Engineering in 2008.
She is a member of the Executive Board of the Master of II level "Analysis of Omics Data" since 2021 and Member of the Teaching Commission of the Bachelor and Master Degree in Computer Engineering since 2020
She was PC-chair (with Layla Oesper) of RECOMB-Seq 2021 and editor of the related special issue on iScience, and editor of the research topic: "From one genome to many genomes: the evolution of computational approaches for pangenomics and metagenomics analysis" on Frontiers in Bioinformatics.
