Basic concepts

The servers of our department are configured to meet the needs of computing resources of their users.

It is possible to run on the cluster any 32 or 64 bit application that you would normally run from one of the Linux PCs of the DEI network (for example, MATLAB) or any program you have recompiled yourself. The various requests are taken over by the cluster management program, queued on the basis of a priority system and executed by the most suitable computing resource at that time.

The computation results that would normally appear on screen are saved in an output file.
