Our university has stipulated a contract with the Sophos company and its antivirus solution is therefore available for Windows and macOS systems.
The installer file will first attempt to remove any potential antivirus program previously installed on the system and then will continue to the actual installation procedure. So it shouldn't be necessary a manual removal of previously installed antivirus programs.
The installation procedure will also modify the configuration of Windows firewall in order for the Sophos management console to be able to contact the antivirus; if in the system there is a different firewall please make the right changes so that both inbound and outbound communications could be established through the TCP ports 8192, 8193, 8194.
