Request Procedure for Academic Staff

In order to access the wired network, PCs must be registered and authorized. All academic staff members can manage the registration of their own systems by visiting the website:

https://mail.dei.unipd.it/hostadmin

In particular, from here it is possible to:

  • view and modify all machines registered under your name;
  • register new devices;
  • renew expired authorizations;
  • assign a temporary secondary IP address to a machine (e.g., for wired network access from a meeting room).

Only in the case of registering new devices the request needs to be validated. In all other cases, the changes will take effect within a few minutes.


Request Procedure for Non-Academic Staff

This form is used to request authorization for accessing the departmental network using a personal PC by individuals who are not part of the permanent staff.
The form must be filled out exclusively by professors, researchers, or technical-administrative staff. The request must be well-justified and supported by valid reasons, after considering the possibility of using the machines available in the laboratories.

In any case, in addition to the paper form, a communication must be sent via helpdesk or email using the same procedure as for academic staff. The Director reserves the right to reject the request.
