DEI account

The DEI account provides access to the computers and the IT network of the Department of Information Engineering (DEI) and to the DEI educational-IT laboratories located in the Engineering teaching complex in via Gradenigo 6/B.
The use of the account is governed by the regulations outlined at the bottom of the page.

REQUEST A NEW ACCOUNT: students

Students enrolled in one of the degree programs of the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Padova can use the IT lab systems with a personal login.
To activate the DEI account and then set or reset the password, follow the online procedure starting from:

Note: The page is accessible through Single Sign-On credentials (UNIWEB @studenti.unipd.it)
International students or students from other departments must ask their DEI tutor professor to send an email to the IT Services.


REQUEST A NEW ACCOUNT: guests, collaborators, research fellows, PhD students, postdocs...

For all other cases (guests, collaborators, research fellows, PhD students, postdocs, special authorizations, etc.), the DEI access procedure is available via the web portal (GIGA):

Access to the DEI IT network is legally subject to the existence of an institutional relationship with the department, or requires authorization by the DEI Administration.
The access authorization process is managed through the GIGA system, the administrative tool of the Department of Information Engineering.

SANCTIONS FOR VIOLATIONS OF THE REGULATIONS

In case of a violation of the current regulations, the account will be blocked and cannot be used to access the laboratories or the DEI wireless network.
The suspension period varies depending on the type of violation:

- prolonged occupation of a workstation: 15 days;

- non-academic activity (gaming, unrelated websites, chat, p2p, etc.): 1 month;

- using another person’s account: account suspended indefinitely until a meeting with IT Services, followed by a 1-month suspension;

- illegal activity via the account: suspension for an indefinite period, pending evaluation by IT Services and/or the DEI Director.

 

To reactivate the account, you must go to the IT Services office with a valid ID document.
The suspension can be postponed if the student needs to use the account to take an exam. In such a case, a formal request from the exam instructor and approval from IT Services is required.
