Bioengineering

Bioengineering is an interdisciplinary field whose main goals are the improvement of the knowledge about biological systems and the development of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation systems and devices.

Bioengineers use the methodologies and the technologies typical of information, chemical and mechanical engineering to solve problems in the life sciences. The challenges due to the complexity of biological and physiological systems and data, often require setting up ad hoc solutions which, in turn, enrich the engineering knowledge.

Automation

Automation offers tools for the analysis and design of modern control systems. It does so leveraging on the synergy between state of the art methodologies and solid knowledge of technological processes involved. Our expertise focuses on different aspects of contemporary control system engineering: robotics, machine learning, industrial automation, complex systems.

Quantum Information and Applied Optics
