Bioengineering

Bioengineering is an interdisciplinary field whose main goals are the improvement of the knowledge about biological systems and the development of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation systems and devices.

Bioengineers use the methodologies and the technologies typical of information, chemical and mechanical engineering to solve problems in the life sciences. The challenges due to the complexity of biological and physiological systems and data, often require setting up ad hoc solutions which, in turn, enrich the engineering knowledge.
