Digital communications and cellular systems

An active area of research is digital communications, with an emphasis on new cellular systems. Expertises include topics of

  • signal processing for digital communication (synchronization, channel estimation, modulation, equalization) in particular with the use of multiple antennas (MIMO systems) also in new spectrum parts (millimeter waves, THz communications),
  • efficient data transmission over wireless media with new antenna systems, intelligent reflective surfaces, taking into account specific device or channel impairments (hybrid analog/digital beamforming, multiuser interference and noise),
  • multiple access schemes and resource allocation solutions, approached as classical optimization problems and/or by innovative predictive and learning solutions (artificial intelligence applied to communication systems),
